Christopher Bates is a large part of the fashion equation that includes menswear, Milan and Made in Italy. This Milan based designer, originally from Canada, studied at the Instituto Marangoni in Milan, a world acclaimed institution that is synonymous with fashion, design and art. His inspirations for his contemporary menswear collections range from anatomy, architecture, geometry and other art forms such as cooking. His style icons are James Bond, James Dean, Steve McQueen, Cary Grant, and David Bowie.

Bates has been featured as one of the top Canadian Designers by Sharp Magazine and included in 2014’s Canada’s Most Influential People by the Alberta Youth Congress. He was also nominated for the 2014 ad 2015 Notable Award for Fashion in Canada and in 2015 and 2016 was nominated as Canadian Menswear Designer of the Year by CAFA. He was the only menswear designer featured in the Mercedes Benz Start Up program and shows at Toronto Fashion Week. In 2017 he will be designing the new uniforms for Air Canada, one of the largest airlines in the world.
