"Turn That Crown Upside Down"
inspired by
"Crown" Chair, 1989 - Tom Dixon

Mission Tile West is known for it's unique, one of a kind, and custom tile. Morraika Simonds is known for her unique, one of a kind and custom designs. For this partnership Morraika and Fina Meraz picked the sculpture "Crown" Chair, and were inspired by the shape and color, interpreting it by turning it upside down. A splash of red Fabricut Blackout Drapery Lining - in honor of the McMillan's many hearts in their collection - sets off the gorgeous gold leaf Seneca mosaic tile, and makes us want to "turn that crown upside down!"

"Shipboard Babe"
inspired by
Shipboard Girl, 1969 - Roy Lichtenstein

For this design, Morraika Simonds of An Interior Motive Designs used paint and a canvas (a painter's dropcloth, no less) to interpret the bold graphics of Lichtenstein. Upholstery welting and Fabricut sheer drapery fabric finish out the look, in which Morraika interprets the era of this painting and what our Shipboard Babe might have been wearing. Morraika is an award winning interior designer with an eye for the unique and a flair for the unusual. Her skills as a seamstress has been put to good use for this year's Fashion Runway Event, where she has created not one but two eye-catching outfits.
